My head nods to the beat,
My body sways with the strings,
My feet float across the floor,
As the Arabian night sings.

The catchy tune is the only thing in my head
As I smile in the candlelight.
The beautiful feeling of the free spirit
As I spread my wings and take flight.

Soon the beat changes
To something of a quicker pace.
Fabric whips around my legs
As my heart begins to race.

My arms float up above my head,
Coins jingle around my hips.
Every part of me is moving
And I blow as kiss from my lips.

Rejuvenated and reborn
I could go on like this forever
As I spin around the room,
This dance feels like an adventure.

Shimmy to the left
And shimmy to the right
Let the music take control
And dance throughout the night.

A-ha! Mah first poem on dA! I have a lot of poem on my computer buuuuut.... they are kind of emo. ^^; They’re good, but still emo. :XD: (I not really emo, just, I have my moments, ya know? =P)

So anyway! My first poem is about, yes, dancing. Belly dancing to be precise. ^^; ^^; ^^;
Am I into it? ... yes! It’s dancing, and it’s from a different culture, so of course I’m interested in it! (I just don’t wear their outfits, as cool as they may look. XD) This poem was inspired by the song, Cairo. :boogie: I luff it!
I really like going into and exploring different cultures. (I BLAME YU-GI-OH FOR THIS ONE! XD XD XD) Kidding, Belly dancing is interesting, though. There are some interesting moves that they do, and most of the moves are kind of free-flowing and you can really express yourself through it.... (Yeesh, I’m starting to sound like Anzu with her friendship speeches! XP)

I understand blaming Yu-Gi-Oh for something. It's their fault I got even MORE obsess with Ancient Egypt. AND trying to learn Arabic. ^^;
